Xbox players have a great opportunity to try something new this weekend without paying extra. As part of the latest Free Play Days event, three games are available to play at no additional cost for subscribers to Game Pass Ultimate, Standard/Premium (where applicable), or Core/Essential (depending on region) until July 12.
The lineup includes MLB The Show 26, the latest installment in the popular baseball franchise, The Alters, a unique sci-fi survival adventure, and Stuffed, a first-person shooter where players take on the role of a teddy bear protecting a young girl from her nightmares.
Players who decide to keep the games after the event can take advantage of special discounts. MLB The Show 26 is currently available for $35, while The Alters has been reduced to $17.50. Stuffed remains at its regular price of $12.50 with no current discount.
In addition to this weekend's Free Play Days lineup, Gears of War: Reloaded joined the Game Pass Premium catalog on July 9, expanding its availability alongside Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. On the same day, Tamashika, a fast-paced arcade-style corridor shooter, was also added to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass.
July has already brought several new titles to the Game Pass library, giving subscribers even more games to explore throughout the month.
Meanwhile, Xbox continues to navigate a difficult period. The company recently laid off approximately 1,600 employees, closed or divested several studios, and canceled multiple game projects as part of a broader restructuring effort. According to Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, these measures were necessary because the Xbox business is currently facing significant financial and operational challenges. Sharma was also recently appointed to a Federal Reserve task force dedicated to improving productivity and employment.
