HoYoverse continues its regular six-week update schedule, and Genshin Impact is preparing for one of its biggest expansions yet. While Version 6.7 is currently live with new characters, seasonal events, and gameplay additions, attention is already shifting toward Version 7.0, which will introduce the long-awaited nation of Snezhnaya.

When Does Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Release?

The next major update, Version 7.0, is scheduled to launch on August 12, 2026.

The release date was confirmed through HoYoverse's behind-the-scenes preview for Snezhnaya, giving players their first official look at the icy region. The teaser also featured the Traveler, Aether, wearing a new outfit while carrying an unexpected firearm aboard a train, hinting at a dramatic shift in the story.

The Version 6.7 livestream later showcased additional footage of Snezhnaya, suggesting the next chapter will feature a darker tone and more cinematic action.

When Is the Version 7.0 Livestream?

If HoYoverse follows its usual schedule, the Version 7.0 Special Program livestream is expected to air on July 31, 2026.

The livestream should reveal:

Sunny Summer Fontinalia

The flagship summer event takes players back to Fontaine and serves as an expanded story centered around Sandrone.

Unlike previous seasonal events, its main storyline becomes permanent after release.

Activities include:

• Managing and decorating a public aquarium
• A fast-paced fish-shooting mini-game
• Shop management mechanics

Final Long-Range Sightlines

This combat challenge introduces a first-person aiming mechanic where players use special observation grenades to eliminate distant enemies.

The event runs from July 17 to July 27 and rewards Primogems along with enhancement materials.

Dance Dance Easy-Breezy Disco

A four-player cooperative rhythm event set in Natlan's Easybreeze Holiday Resort.

Running from July 24 to August 3, players can earn Primogems and character progression materials by completing musical challenges.

Version 6.7 also delivers a significant content update for Miliastra Wonderland, adding new customization options and editor improvements.
